Welcome to Miami Trace Middle School!

My name is Eric Wayne, and I am honored to serve as Principal of MTMS. Middle school is an important time in a young person’s life. Students are learning more about who they are, building friendships, discovering interests, and preparing for the future. It is a privilege to be part of that journey.

At MTMS, we are committed to creating a school where every student feels safe, valued, and supported. Our staff works hard each day to provide meaningful learning experiences while helping students discover their strengths and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe strong relationships, high expectations, and open communication are key to student success.
We value our partnership with families and believe students are most successful when home and school work together. We are proud to offer programs that support the whole child, including Panthers Circle, our character education program, and an intervention period that provides additional support and enrichment opportunities for students.

Our school expectations are simple:

Treat others as you want to be treated.
Everyday, come prepared to learn.
Always be respectful.
Make good choices.

I look forward to working together to make this a successful year for every student. My door is always open, and I look forward to getting to know our students and families throughout the year. Thank you for being part of the Miami Trace Middle School family.

Sincerely,
Eric Wayne
Principal
Miami Trace Middle School

Dear Panther Community:

Thank you for visiting our Miami Trace Middle School Web Page!  My name is Michelle Teis and I am honored to be the Middle School Assistant Principal!  I have been a part of the Miami Trace community since 2001, where most of my time was spent in the classroom as a teacher at both Bloomingburg and our new building.

Parental involvement is a vital aspect in increasing student achievement, and the team at MTMS invites parents and family members to be active and communicate throughout your student’s learning.  My goal, in my position, is to continue working closely with parents, community members, staff, and students to promote an environment of positivity and student learning.

I look forward to working with you this school year!  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.  I am here to support our middle school community and maintain a high level of expectations in every aspect of the learning environment.

Respectfully,

Michelle Teis

Dear Miami Trace Middle School Families,

My name is Wilson McCoy, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Miami Trace Middle School. I am honored to continue working alongside the outstanding middle school team as we partner with our students, staff, and families to make this a successful and rewarding school year.

Although this is my first year serving as Assistant Principal, this marks my 15th year in the Miami Trace Local School District. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as an elementary physical education teacher and most recently as the Family Engagement and Attendance Coordinator. These experiences have strengthened my belief that strong relationships, consistent communication, and a supportive school culture are essential to helping every student thrive.

At Miami Trace Middle School, I am committed to helping create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment where every student feels valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Middle school is an exciting time of growth, and I look forward to celebrating our students' successes while supporting them through challenges along the way.

I also believe that open communication between home and school is one of the most important ingredients for student success. I encourage you to reach out whenever you have questions, concerns, or simply want to share in your child's accomplishments. By working together, we can provide the best possible experience for every student.

I am excited to begin this new chapter and look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the school year. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Miami Trace community. Together, I know we can make this an outstanding year for all of our students.

Go Panthers!

Sincerely,
Wilson McCoy
